I also agree....Armond is a great guy to have on your team, but he i snot on our team...And if he was on our team he would not start over Joah thats for damn sure. There is NO comparison between them..

Armond Williams is very good. Is Tucker better? I would say yes, but I do admit to my own bias. I like Tuck's game better, I think he brings more of the "intangibles" to the court, but Williams is still one of the most talented players in the conference. To say there is no comparison between the two of them is a bit of a stretch, Womack. As to the original topic here, the rest of the season: I worry about every game. This Saturday is a huge game, and I think it would be unwise to discount just how important this game is to UIC. Sure, we all dislike Jimmy Collins here, but the guy is a good coach. He's going to do everything in his power to have that team ready to roll, for 2 reasons: 1. He wants to beat Bruce. This will NEVER change. 2. This is a team that still hopes to win the HL tourney and make the NCAA. They're currently in 3rd place, with an outside chance at 2nd. Beating us can help this team with the ever-important "momentum factor" down the stretch. Of couse, beating them could send them reeling.... I am also concerned about Butler. I think we are all down on Butler because of their sub-par year so far. But its easy to forget that this has always been one of the best programs in the conference, and should always be a team to be concerned about. They've played excellent the last 2 times out, beating the snot our of UWGB and Loyola. They play at Wright St., and home against Cleveland St. and Detroit before our game. If they win 2 of 3, I think they come to the cell with a LOT of confidence. Of course, one game at a time for us. I think we are the best team in conference, but its important that we get on a roll into March.

Ok, here is why I take Williams over Tucker. After reading many of your post this season and doing a little stat checking, it looks like sometimes Tucker likes to take games off. This is not the case for Armond. There was a game against UDM were Tucker had 0points 4 boards not to good, then against LU he had 0 points and 2 boards. So if im looking for a guy whos giving his all everygame Im taking Armond cause Tucker your not sure if hes going to give you his 24 point game against BU or his 0 against detroit and loyola
As for stats these two are very close on every catagory
player G Pts RB OB DB FG% St
Tuck 11 15 6.2 1.82 4.36 .500 1.18
A.Wil 8 12.4 6.1 2.25 3.88 .538 2.13
I think both guys still have a very good chance at being a first team guy. Armond still needs to catch up in games so who knows. I havent really seen Tucker play much, but his numbers look good. I still like Armond cause this kid has some sick hops and can get a crowed going with his dunks.

in the past joah has taken a game off here and there... but i think he's gotten much better this year. last year that admittedly was a problem. i'd say for the most part he's really stepped up and taken more responsibility this season. it seems to me that he takes those not-so-great games much more personally this year and always bounces back in a big way. i think williams and tucker are both exceptional players in this league, however i'd take tucker given the choice.

Armond just takes the games off due to academic probation is all... Sometimes that happens when athletes actually have to go to class....

Actually it happens when they dont go to class buddy ole pal. You really have to be pretty stupid and try to actually attain a 1.5 or whatever it is.
As for saying Armonds dunks get the crowd going I am pretty sure Joah does the exact same thing. Joah had 0 pts against UDM however McCants was the hot hand and scored 38 that game but maybe if Joah was not in foul trouble that game we could have won. Who knows, either way I will take Joah for all his intangibles any day of the week.

Womack thanks. Heres my point why would you want a player that ever takes off a game. If Eds not around then you lose by 30. Armond is the type of player that is there night in night out. Except when hes not passing classes blah, blah, blah. But really I never expected you to change your mind just trying to say while Tucker does explode at times, he does also wilt as well. With their stats is Tucker really that much better then Williams? I dont think you have ground to stand on there. Will Tucker finish on the first team well thats a good chance but it doesnt hurt that he's on the first place team.

I have a very hard time agreeing with anyone who says that Joah "took a game off" vs. UDM. thats horsesh*t. Yes his box score was pretty crap-tasic but i, who was a the game watched every second of it in no way would say that he "took it off". HE was in foul trouble part of the game and the other part he just could not get shots to fall, they rolled off the rim or just would not fall period as shooters will have happen. In no what-so-ever does that suggest that this particular game Joah just said in his head, "oh well golly gee, let me see what things would be like and just not play real hard tonight". Didn't happen that game, won't happen anytime soon, and hasn't happened yet. Player can have bad games right we are all still human and will occasionally have bad days right?
See the difference here is that when you or I have a bad day we maybe say the wrong thing to a friends or complete stranger or we forget to finsh soemthig or put it away, but when an athlete has a bad day all of a sudden it is seen as "oh well he/she took the night off" or "they just didn't come to play today" what a crock of sh*t. If that player had ever taken a game off here and there then i would be willing to put money on it that they would not be playing on a schoolarship or professionally for that matter.
sorry for the cursing.....the comments got me a little heated.
