Hopefully these past two games will be a learning experience for Joah to stay the hell out of foul trouble! We can't go 3 games with him struggling in the end.
I predict a strong turnout at the UDub, assuming students can roll out of bed by 1! It's not looking good for a UIC fan turnout too. Fans are struggling to maintain faith in the team, even few members of the Dboard will be in attendance.
Go Panthers!

I actually thought the Wright St. announcers were pretty good. If I was a Wright St. fan, I would have been pissed at James Wright leaving as well. Did you expect them to be happy about that?
I think they were very respectful of Bruce and our program. Can't ask for more than that.

Did anyone watch the 10:00 news last night? Channel 4, 6, and 58 had the score, but channel 12 had some "video" of the game. I was happy to see some footage, but it looked like it was taken by a camera phone. haha Did anyone else see this?

yeah i also watched the game on web cast. I thought that iit was pretty cool, i however didnot have any sound due to my lack of computer speakers, i had to listen to the game on woky, which kinda ruined the game on the web due to the fact that the game was delayed by like 2 plays on the internet, so i basically knew everything that was going to happen before i saw it( talk about taking away the elemt of suprise! ) i still say great game panthers and i cant wait for saturday!!!!!!!!!!! go Panthers!!!!!!!!

Late in the game, Wright got tied up going for a loose ball. A WSU player was called for a foul, and there was a timeout. Wright then left the game due to an "injury", and, if I remember correctly, Pearl put in Boo as the shooter (90% vs. 45%). The WSU announcers were pretty livid, calling it bushleague, which I actually agree with (unless, of course, James really was hurt). Boo only made 1 of 2, so there was a bit of sweet redemption for WSU. Still not a classy move by Pearl if Wright wasn't hurt.
I also thought the announcers last night were outstanding. They were very complimentary to our program and to BP. I enjoyed there comments during "off-air" time - often pretty funny.

I am pretty sure that James didn't go back into the game after getting poked in the eye.......but then again, with the way he shoots free throws, he probably wouldn't have been in there anyways. But, who knows, maybe with one eye he could have made them. On a side note, I don't care how good of a free throw shooter you are, if you are asked to come in off the bench to shoot, it is a tough task - much harder than just shooting them in the flow of the game. I know Boo played a lot of minutes, but when you are on the bench, you do not expect to have to go in and shoot at a moments notice. In other words, it doesn't greatly surprise me that he missed the first one.

I saw the 'video' clip on channel 12. They just took some of the webcast footage and used that. But it was better than just throwing up the score.

Tucker will only stop getting into foul trouble when the officials stop calling him for ticky-tack, minimal-contact fouls. Otherwise, you're asking him to stop playing his game. He needs to take it strong to the basket and draw the defense or our outside shooters will seldom get a clean look at the basket. No problem with Joah.

In the NBA, if a player is injured before taking free throws, the opposing coach gets to choose who comes in. This makes sense. Any idea why don't they do that in D1?
As it was James apparantly got poked in the eye. The Wright St. announcer was calling it bush league because he thought Wright was faking an injury. I can see why he felt that way, becuase they never mentioned his eye at all. My guess is they had no idea.

Who's to say James wouldn't have made those two free throws? He's was on fire from the line against UWGB. Those two free throws against GB were things of beauty.

The second one was kind of ho-hum...........but the first one was SWEET! Any true shooter will tell you that a bank from straight on is one of the toughest shots of all! Then I told my buddy, it looks like two swishes in the box score. As soon as he got to the line, I told my buddy (who lives in GB but isn't a big bball fan), this should be interesting. James did not disappoint. ;D haha

so MU gets spanked at home and UWM gets a hard fought road win and who gets the front page? yes i know it's expected, but frustrating nonetheless.
