Whats the word on this game. After seeing us play ncstate, and this nice win at valpo i think the sky is the limit. If we win vs. madison, it will be due to smart play and free throws. We hit our free throws agains valpo, and must continue to do so. We also will have to win the turnover battle. We cant turn the ball over on key possessions. That can kill momentum for a team. To win this game, well have to play excelent, and rely on madison to make a few mistakes. Should be exciting to watch, unfortunately i have a final at 1230 saturday

I was just wondering how many people on this message board are going to the game tomorrow? I was lucky and got some tickets through a friend whose girlfriend's parents have season tickets for Badger's Basketball. My roommate and myself are going and I have this horrible feeling that we are going to be the only Panther fans in our section. Since the game starts @ 11, does anybody know when the bars open? After spending Friday night in Madison, I'm going to have to find a place that has good Bloodies. Any help on the bars would be helpful and hopefully I see some other fans there on Saturday so that we can celebrate a win

Yah...it's horrible, I have a final at 1230 as well on Saturday. I would probably be trying to go to the game if it not for that.
Quick Points on the game Saturday:
1. Whoever is guarding Harris needs to somewhat contain him. He is the key to the Badgers success and if he is off, usually the team is affected by this. 2. Alando Tucker may play a couple minutes for them this Saturday I heard. He is the most athletic player on their team so we must be ready to see a little action from him. 3. We need to do better than 26% from three to win this game. We're a team that doesn't rely on the three but is usually important in our wins.(I like the free throws though) 4. Lastly, we can't turn the ball over on critical possessions, i.e. when we're starting to pull away or when we have the momentum in our direction. A turnover is the best thing that can happen to the other team when they are down...we saw that in our game against Valpo.
Hopefully we can come out and play special on Saturday and do what the rest of the state thinks we can't.

Unfortunately this year I will not be going. I have some other things to do on Sat. (but not during the game ) and I wasn't able to find any reasonable good seats. I refuse to sit up in the nose bleed seats at the Kohl Center when the game is on TV. I did it last year and it wasn't the pleasant. Call me spoiled, call me a bad fan, call me whatever you want, but I will be watching this one from home. And in case you were wondering, yes I did make the trip to Indy last year for the tournament - and sat in bad seats! haha

My weekly line: UWM 85, UW 83. ;D
If Dylan Page and Joah have perfect games...and McCants is hitting his 3s, Milwaukee can come out with a W. The higher scoring, the better chance we have, so our press will have to be making some plays and running up the score.
I am sure Pearl has something planned for this game to give Madison all it can handle. It's been a long time since UW has had an upset, especially against state schools, I think their time has come tomorrow.
GO MILWAUKEE!
Later, UWMfreak

Here are my keys to the game: 1. Try to keep the ball out of Harris's hand, pressure him and make Owens or better yet Wade bring up the ball.
2. foul trouble = it seems like in the past few games, the opps. have been in the bonus very early and it would be nice if we were the first team for a change.
3. Free Throws
4.Tucker for UWM and Wilkinson for UW = If one of these players gets into early foul trouble, it will change the game plan for each team.
OK boys, well it is time for me to head to Madison. Time for my prediction:
UWM = 81 UW = 77

UWM irons out permanent press Badgers will be facing an aggressive defenseBy MARK STEWART mstewart@journalsentinel.com Last Updated: Dec. 12, 2003 Madison - The moments were magical. A year ago, UW-Milwaukee trailed Wisconsin by 20 points with less than 6 minutes left. Then, poof! The Panthers cut 15 points off that deficit in just 3 minutes, turning four turnovers into nine points. Two years ago, UWM did its best Houdini imitation by escaping from a 15-point hole in the second half with a 20-point turnaround in 10 minutes. That turnaround would have netted the Panthers a victory over the Badgers were it not for Devin Harris' steal and layup with 3 seconds left. "Wisconsin's bench, led by Tucker and Morley, outscored Milwaukee's 40-14." Either we were too tired or I dunno what. I am sick of the same ol, same ol results every time we go to Madison. We get burried, come back too late, then get smoked. This was easily our worse loss since last season's defeat 89-69 by Georgia. How many more years until we have a home game against UW? Is this series really worth it if we just get whooped every time? Next weekend we FINALLY have a home game again, then back on the road. Big game coming up...forget the loss, time to concentrate on UIC. GO MILWAUKEE! Later, UWMfreak
