High riser Babbitt among workout group By Charles F. Gardner of the Journal Sentinel Nevada sophomore Luke Babbitt, who turned heads at the recent draft combine, is among the six players working out for the Bucks on Thursday at the Cousins Center. The 6-9, 225-pound Babbitt is being compared with Butler's Gordon Hayward as the draft approaches on June 24. Babbitt, a Cincinnati native who grew up in Reno, Nev., and stayed in his hometown to attend college, is expected to be a first-round pick and could go in the lottery to middle of the first round. The Bucks have the 15th overall pick and also hold two picks in the second round (Nos. 37 and 47). Also working out for the Bucks will be 6-7 St. John's senior Anthony Mason; 6-7 Hawaii senior Roderick Flemings; 6-8 Michigan State senior Raymar Morgan; 6-3 Pittsburgh senior Jermaine Dixon and 6-1 UW-Milwaukee senior Ricky Franklin.tinyurl.com/2ufk876

Good list, JG, though I would consider several of those mentioned to be low-major players ... or, as Gregg Marshall liked to say when he was at Winthrop, high-major players at low-major schools.

Yes, agreed...though what defines a mid-major is for a different day and discussion

I would really like to smack that "danbucksfan123" right up side the head. Says he's a fan of UWM. Impossible, if you don't know who Ricky is.
I can't believe I still even read those moronic comments at the end of those articles.

I can't believe I still even read those moronic comments at the end of those articles. yeah...you're better off not reading them...most of the posters on there haven't got a clue what the hell they're talking about i just found out from those comments that rick didn't pass a single class last semester...kinda odd...i'd have to imagine if he had all the credits that he would have just applied for graduation a semester early and taken yoga or something...

I find it ironic that Kyle Duerstein is a representative of our University--everything he ever writes is poison. What a jackass.

"Does anyone else feel that J-S coverage of Panther athletics has turned a corner under Tom Enlund?"
I don't read the J-S for other reasons, but for Panthers stuff, I'd have to agree with you, yes it has.

Didn't think about it, untill you said it. Your right, Ricky Franklin working out for the Bucks wouldn't have made the paper before.

uwmpanthers.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/061710aaa.htmlDidn't see this until today. Looks like Ricky has gotten himself into a little better shape and performed much better in his second workout. Hopefully this will help him get his post-collegiate career going. Once again, best of luck to you Ricky. We all look forward to following you wherever you end up.
