I'm just guessing he needed a break. How can you say he didn't need a breather. Have you ever tried playing D1 ball?

I pointed out Deion James played 9 minutes 30 seconds of the last 10 minutes of the 1st half. I hardly think that's sticking up for anyone. It was just a simple statement. The original post made it sound like James didn't play the rest of the half.

at least deion is being brought up. I couldnt believe not many had really been talking about a guy who was averaging 0.8 pts put up the kind of performance he had last night in a hostile environment. I was extremely impressed with his performance afer seeing virtually nothing from him in 4 previous games. Deion James needs more minutes.

Deon James does not get many minutes because he is not good on defense. Having said that, I was impressed by his shooting performance last night.

Deion James isn't bad at defense.

"Wanted to submit a comment regarding Tom Crean’s behavrior towards UWM and their fans last night. What was supposed to be the first of 6 community rivalry games was soured by Crean’s post game comments toward the fans and team families. AFter the obviously crushing defeat, he chose to go to the UWM area and say “Now I am F…ing done with you guys and you can F…ing go home” He also went up to one of the asst. coache’s wives and said to her “you can F…ing go home too”. The city of Milwaukee and the state have been long wanting these intrastate matchups to build a sense of state pride. Can we as Milwaukee residents not demand our coaches behave with respect? Last I looked most of the players, families and staff call this community home and have grown up here. I think UWM needs to demand an apology from the MU administration for their coach’s anti-Milwaukee, anti-Wisconsin and very unchristian-like behavior."

This is a comment I just found on the Post Sports Blog. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm skeptical, but it is possible. MU fans and UWM fans, if you know, tell us. If you don't, don't start another argument, it's the last thing we need.

Gary is saying that MU was in the wrong, and was clearly running up the score. Cliff on the other hand is saying that Coach Jeter needs to quit whining and play better next time.

Cliff continues to say that this is what Jeter and Bud had coming to them for trying to make MU look bad while the deal was being put in place this past off season.

Cliff said he trolls our message board, and that people on here need to quit whining and complaining (for once I agree with Cliff). Cliff also said he has been to "more than his share" of UWM basketball games, though I've been to almost every one over the past 5 or 6 years and have YET to see him.

Someone named James wrote an email to the show.... D-board perhaps?

Problem here is that as far as I can recall Jeter was never part of the bad blood between the two programs, it was Bud and Bruce.

If what Crean did was true, it would appear he does not perform his work in the Jesuit tradition as is required of Marquette employees. But than again, Marquette never hired coaches on the basis of the Jesuit tradition, they were hired to put together a basketball program that makes the alumni happy.

Guys people forget that it was Crean who announced to the media, without alerting the AD, that a deal was all but done between the two schools, when in fact no one knew a deal was coming, until the story broke in the paper.

Cliff don't know jack sh*t...he makes sports radio painful to listen to.

James is a D-Board member and he is also very critical of Cliff Saunders. James also wishes he would have finished reading that email.

Seriously P^2, Crean said those words?

When and where? I assume after the game.

Where were you when you heard that?

yep he said them.

After the game, after he had gone through the line and shook hands with the players

I was about 10 feet away from him.

He said that verbatim (sp?)

As much as I have never liked the guy, I would think Tom Crean has a dash of integrity. I cannot believe he (or any D-1 coach in their right mind) would say that. Is this seriously true? If so, I think an apology from MU and Tom Crean personally should be demanded by UWM. That is offensive, out of line, and has no place in college basketball. I would think someone just made this up, but I trust the people on this board- we make many wild speculations and argue a lot about what is best for this team, but lying is never something I've ever seen here. How could this not be reported by someone (in the media) who was close to the floor when it happened?

PS: Very, very un-Christian for someone who heads a Catholic college basketball program. My grandpa (huge Marquette fan and huge Catholic who went to UWM for 2 years before he went to Marquette, but never told me until we went to the Sweet 16 when I was a senior), would be really upset, even as an MU fan. I don't know who couldn't find this childish behavior unacceptable.

I honestly don't know if the powers that be know about the exchange. All I know is that I heard what I heard.

I would not lie about that. That exchange calls into question someone's character, and as much as I dislike Crean, I would not lie on the man about something like that.

That being said, what I heard affirms my sincere dislike for Crean. I was shocked.
